Star-Traxx™ Installation
Star-Traxx™ is very easy to mount on most vehicles. The most important thing is to remember that the unit must have an unobstructed view of the sky. We have an optional magnetic base for use where you have a metal that it can be mounted to, such as the roof of a normal car. For applications on a motorcycle, we suggest mounting to the top of a tail truck (if you have one), on the tail piece behind the passenger seat works well, or on top of a saddle bag. We have even taken long trips on a sport bike with one attached using only a bungee strap on the passenger seat or placed inside but on top of everything in a fabric tank bag. It will not work well if the unit is covered up with anything that could block the radio signal such as metal, clothes, fiberglass and leather seem to be ok.. The unit comes with complete mounting instructions including a template and wiring diagram for permenant mounting.
